The 2018 Subway Atlantic University Sport Swimming Championships took place this weekend at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, in Saint John, NB. Overall it was a great weekend for the Sea-Hawks swimmers as they totalled 14 medals over three days of competition.
The weekend got off to a great start for Memorial, as Jasmine Foran was named the 2018 AUS Women's Rookie of the Year at the awards banquet. She then swam to a gold medal performance in the 100m breaststroke, setting a new AUS record along the way. Her teammate, Veronica Reid, took home silver in the same event. The Hawks would go on to claim bronze medals in the 400m IM Relay in both men's and women's.
The Sea-Hawk's would go on to have a strong Saturday claiming five total medals. Once again it was Jasmine Foran picking up a gold, this time in the 200m breaststroke. Alison Somers took home two medals. First was a silver in the 200m fly. Later she would earn a bronze in the 50m fly. The day two finals concluded with a pair of bronze medals in the men's and women's 800m free relays.
Memorial would finish the weekend in style, earning another five medals on the final night of action. Jasmine Foran capped off her weekend with two more gold medals (50m breaststroke, 200m IM), while Veronica Reid once again placed just behind Foran in the breaststroke (50m). The final two relay's were in the 400m Medley, where the Hawks won a silver in the women's, and captured a bronze in the men's.
