| (Jan 26, 2012) Looking to end a four game losing streak that has brought the Sea~Hawks back down to 500 the team travels to PEI this weekend to take on the 2-10 UPEI Panthers with hopes of creating some distance between themselves and CBU for the third see in the playoffs. This will be the second time the Panthers and the Sea~Hawks tangle this season as the team split a the two game series at the field house this past November which forced the Sea~Hawks to take a bounce back win taking the second game 95-71. Basketball Teams at Home to Face Acadia, While Men's Volleyball and Swim Team Hit the Road |
| As many new year's resolutions are falling apart, Sea-Hawks teams in action this weekend must keep their eyes on the prize and not give their competitors any advantage. The swim team head to UPEI and will be looking to secure some CIS qualifying times and will be scouting out their Atlantic competition in advance of the AUS Championships scheduled for Dalhousie in February. Men's Volleyball heads to the new Currie Center at UNB for Interlock action and are searching for match wins against teams from Quebec. Sea-Hawks basketball teams take to the court at home, with the women seeking to earn valuable playoff points against a tough Acadia squad. Men's basketball will face an athletic Acadia team, but will look to home court advantage to give them an edge. [....Read More] |

For the Men's and Women's volleyball teams both were on display this weekend at the Nest as both teams stepped up and put on a show for their fans. For the women it was about positioning toward the playoffs while the Men displayed for their fans that their heart is dedicated to finishing this season with pride and determination. The red hot ticket will be in St. John's at the Field House as the Men's and Women's Volleyball teams host the UNB Varsity Reds in a weekend double dip with playoff implications while the Sea~Hawks basketball teams will travel to Cape Breton for a two game tilt versus the Capers. (Jan. 8, 2012). In a kick off to 2012, three court teams were in action Saturday and Sunday, with women's volleyball at home against the Cape Breton Capers, while the basketball teams faced the Dalhousie Tigers. The women's basketball team picked up two huge 4pt wins against the Tigers, picking up valuable points in league standings. Down at the end of the 3rd quarter by 12, it looked as if Sunday's game was over, but the Sea-Hawks rallied and were within 1 with just over 6 minutes to go. [....Read More] |

| (Jan 5, 2011.)It's been a long-time coming, but the Women's Volleyball team will finally have their home openers this weekend, as the Cape Breton Capers come to town for matches that were postponed in November due to winter weather conditions in Nova Scotia. The team is looking healthy heading into the second half and the team is excited to have veteran Erin Bursey back in the line-up after an ankle injury limited her playing time during the fall. The Women's Basketball team looks to play well this weekend and put away a possible 8 points in the standings with two wins over long time rivals Dalhousie. In Men's Basketball, the season is on the line this weekend, with pivotal four point games, so expect the team to leave it all on the floor as they try and secure some points in their quest to make the playoffs. (Jan. 1, 2012.) It was an exciting holiday break for The Memorial University Sea~Hawks. Three team faced holiday opponents with varying results. The Men's volleyball team has and will continue to be the busiest this holiday season as they hosted a short training camp with the Royal Military College Paladins that also featured three evening games in the MUN Gymnasium. In all three matches the Sea~Hawks were able to assert themselves on their opponents as the capitalized on many of the unforced errors. Both the Men's and Women's Basketball teams were able to win a game each at their respective tournaments at Ryerson University and Concordia University. [....Read More.] |

(Dec. 26, 2011.) The 2011 Holiday Season will go down as the busiest one yet for Memorial Sea~Hawks teams. The Women's Volleyball team begin two a days on December 27th and are hosting Girls skills camp, the Swim team travels to Barbados's for an intense yet mildly refreshing training camp. Meanwhile, at home in the Field House and MUN gym the Men's volleyball team welcome the Royal Military College Volleyball team for an intense training camp and series of three Exhibition matches December 28th through 30th. Following the camp, The Sea~Hawks teams will depart for the Timber Invitational in Calgary hosted by Mount Royal College. Not to be outdone, the Men's Basketball team will travel to Ryerson University in Toronto to participate in their annual Invitational Tournament. Finally, The Women's Basketball team travel to Concordia University in Montreal for the 2011 Concordia – Reebok Invitational. Of course fans and Media can follow along at www.goseahawks.ca .
