Sea-Hawks Welcome Kianna Moore to Women's Volleyball Program

ST. JOHN'S, NL – The Memorial University women's volleyball program is excited to welcome Kianna Moore to the roster for the upcoming 2025 AUS season.

A versatile left side attacker from Paradise, Newfoundland, Moore brings a strong local pedigree and a competitive edge to the Seahawks lineup. A graduate of Mount Pearl Senior High, she has been a standout on both the Junior Seahawks and Huskies club programs.

Moore will have the unique honour of representing Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2025 Canada Games, set to take place this summer in her hometown of St. John's. Competing on home soil is a rare and special opportunity, and being selected for the provincial team is a testament to her hard work and high-level play. With family, friends, and local supporters behind her, Moore is set to take the national stage as both a proud Newfoundlander and a rising volleyball talent.

"I'm incredibly excited to start this next chapter at home because it's honestly a huge privilege," said Moore. "Growing up here, I've always admired the MUN varsity volleyball team and pictured myself one day wearing the jersey. To now have the opportunity to represent my hometown, with friends and family in the stands, is incredibly special."

Moore will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science with plans to continue into the Bachelor of Nursing program. She says Memorial's strong academic reputation, paired with the competitive nature of the volleyball program, made it the right fit.

"As a student-athlete, it's important to be placed in an environment where I can grow both academically and athletically," she explained.

Describing her playing style as "determined and aggressive," Moore is known for her hustle, adaptability, and strong court communication. She takes pride in being a reliable offensive option and a consistent presence in serve receive and defence.

"I'm always ready to contribute in any way I can to support my teammates. I'm bringing a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and I'm looking forward to developing as both a player and a teammate."

The Seahawks are thrilled to add another local talent to the program and are looking forward to seeing Kianna's impact both on and off the court.

Welcome to the Seahawks family, Kianna!
