The Memorial Sea-Hawks (9-2-0) topped the visiting Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (0-11-0) by a final score of 7-1.
On a cold, windy evening at King George V Park, the Sea-Hawks and Aigles Bleus took to the pitch at 5:00 PM NDT to start their two-game series to conclude the regular season. The Aigles Bleus would take the lead quickly out of the gate on a goal in the 14th minute by centre back Natalie Flemming, a perfect way to start for a Aigles Bleus squad looking for their first victory of the season. However, soon after the Sea-Hawks would respond on a strike by forward Claire Langille, her 4th goal of the season, leveling the score and upping the pressure on the Aigles Bleus. Then, just before the end of the first-half, the Sea-Hawks would score a pair of goals just before the 45th minute, thanks to Celina-Marie Welling's 2nd of the season in the 39th minute, and forward Kate Hickey's first marker of the season would provide the insurance marker in the 41st minute, the Sea-Hawks would enter half time with a 3-1 lead.
As the match continued, the Sea-Hawks would continue their stout defensive play that has carried them all season, and as a result they were able to stop any potential comeback by the Aigles Bleus in the second-half. The Sea-Hawks would add another goal to their total in the 49th minute thanks to Nicole Torraville's first of the season assisted by Sea-Hawks forward Holly O'Neil. The home team wouldn't stop there, O'Neil would find the back of the net for the Sea-Hawks 5th goal in the 77th minute, captain Lauren Taylor would add the 6th marker in the 83rd minute. With the game out of hand, and nearing the end of play, O'Neil would fire it past the Aigles Bleus goalkeeper for her 2nd of the game, and AUS leading 9th goal of the season.
The player of the game was awarded to Sea-Hawks defender Christina Woloszczuk, her on-field smart's and efficiency make her one of the more valuable players on the back line for Memorial.
