The Memorial Sea-Hawks (5-2-0) were able to pull off the come from behind victory over the UNB Reds (1-4-2) by a final score of 3-1 at King George V Park on Saturday afternoon.

Appearing to be a defensive battle as both teams were stuck in a scoreless deadlock at halftime with not many chances coming at either end, both teams were feeling each other out before play opened up in the second half.

The Varsity Reds stuck first and jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute thanks to Heidi Lauwerjissen who was able to capitalize on a great pass by teammate Jesse Bellamy. Sea-Hawks forward Holly O'Neill (4G) would answer back with a goal in the 72nd minute assisted by Nicole Torraville, and then two minutes later O'Neill would add to her goal total, springing the Sea-Hawks out in front 2-1 in the 74th minute assisted by Claire Langille. The Sea-Hawks didn't stop there, Zoe Rowe (3G, 1A) would score an insurance marker assisted by Lauren Taylor in the 78th minute to help solidify the victory and put home team ahead 3-1. Sea-Hawks goalkeeper Sydney Walsh was solid when relied upon, stopping 3 shots on her way to her 3rd victory of the season, while Reds goalkeeper Brynn Nash stopped 6 shots of 9 shots directed her way.

The player of the game was awarded to Sea-Hawks forward Holly O'Neill for her offensive explosion in the second half, her two quick goals gave the Sea-Hawks a lead that they relinquish. The Sea-Hawks forward was credited with an impressive 6 shots on goal, which led either team by a large margin.

The two teams will meet again tomorrow at 12:30 PM ADT at King George V Park.
