The Memorial Sea-Hawks (5-4-1) host the Moncton Aigles Bleus (4-5-1) for a pivotal two-game series to conclude the AUS regular season.
The Sea-Hawks have enjoyed an exciting season so far, and currently sit in 5th place, tied in points with the 6th place UPEI Panthers and one point ahead of the 7th place Dalhousie Tigers. While this weekend's opponent, the Aigles Bleus come into this weekend in 8th place, three points behind the Sea-Hawks, making for a crucial series between the two sides. Sea-Hawks star forward Emmanuel Dolo (10G, 7A) has been the main provider for team's offence throughout the grand majority of the regular season, he ranks second in goals, assists and points in the AUS. Dolo's running mate Jacob Grant (4G, 2A) has also been able to provide significant production throughout the course of the season, opposing teams can't focus all their attention on Dolo, or Grant will take advantage. Harry Carter (3G), the captain of the Sea-Hawks has been a consistent presence in the middle of the field through 10 games, the impact Carter leaves on the field is immeasurable.
The Aigles Bleus enter into this weekend's action in 8th place, and in need of a weekend sweep versus the Sea-Hawks to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Aigles Bleus are led by forward Younesse Chibane (4G, 2A), who's appeared in only 8 games so far this season, his 27 shots on the season rank inside the top-5 in the AUS. Forward Georges Musitu has also been one of the better offensive threats in Atlantic Canada, Musitu's 7 goals place him 4th. The Aigles Bleus are led by a potent attack, their 19 goals place them 4th in the AUS, but their defensive play has been a cause for some of the team's problem, their 17 goals against rank in the bottom three.
Both games will be taking place at King George V Park, in St. Johns, Newfoundland and Labrador, the opening match getting underway at 7:15 PM NDT on Friday, October 29th, and the season finale taking place the following day at 5:15 PM NDT.
