Sea-Hawks Are Back On the Road

The Memorial Sea-Hawks (2-2-0) hit the road once again as they take on the Cape Breton Capers (2-1-0) and the St. FX X-Men (4-0-0). The Sea-Hawks will look to rebound from last weekend's defeats at the hands of the Dalhousie Tigers and Saint Mary's Huskies.

The Sea-Hawks currently find themselves in a tie for 3rd place in the AUS, while the Capers are also situated in a tie for 3rd place while the St. FX X-Men find themselves all alone at the top in first place. Memorial has scored 11 goals in just 4 games leads the entire AUS, they boast the nations' leading scorer in Emmanuel Dolo  who's scored 7 of the team's goals. Sea-Hawks captain and center back Harry Carter also deserves some praise, he's contributed 2 goals so far this season while being coach Jake Stanford's most dependable player, consistently controlling the pace of the game with his smarts. Sea-Hawks goalkeeper Dylan Critchton has been reliable between the pipes, posting a 0.750 save percentage with 1.75 goals against average with 2 wins and 1 clean sheet. The keeper offered some thoughts about how the team is prepared to bounce back from last weekend "We had a positive week of training, we are going into the weekend looking to put together two good performances", the team is staying level-headed prior to their upcoming matchups.

The first game on the slate for the Sea-Hawks takes place Saturday afternoon at 3:45 ADT versus the Capers. The four-time defending AUS champion Capers were ranked prior to the season as the number 1 team in their conference and despite dropping one game they're likely the most feared team in the AUS. Capers' forward Charlie Waters has been carrying the bulk of the team's offence with his nation leading 6 assists in just 3 games, the Sea-Hawks must keep a close eye on Waters if they want to walk away victorious.

It doesn't get any easier for Memorial as they take the pitch at 3:15 ADT versus the undefeated St. FX X-Men, when they look to wrap the weekend up with a victory. The X-Men lead all team's in goals against, having surrendered only 2 goals in 4 games so far. Led by leading scorer Cameron Shaw who has recorded 2 goals and 4 points so far, while also boasting one of the premier goalkeepers in all of the AUS in Seamus MacDonald who has stopped 17/19 shots directed his way.

The Sea-Hawks will have to rely on their offensive touch and solid defending to exit the weekend with a couple wins.
