Men's Basketball - Weekend Preview

Men's Basketball

The Memorial Sea-Hawks men's basketball team will travel to Charlottetown, PEI this weekend to take on the UPEI Panthers.  Games are schedule for 8:30pm on Saturday and 1:30pm on Sunday, and will be webcast on www.AUStv.ca

The Sea-Hawks are coming off a home weekend split to the first-place Dalhousie Tigers, which kept their playoff hopes alive.  Victories won't be easy to come by this weekend, as the Panthers currently sit in second-place in the AUS standings and have an 8 and 1 home record this season.

This weekend's match-up between the Sea-Hawks and Panthers are worth 4 points per victory.

Memorial will need to receive strong play throughout the line-up, but will rely on 4th year post, Vasilije Curcic (Kragujevac, Serbia), and 5th year post, Caleb Gould (Aurora, ON) to lead the charge.  Curcic is coming off athlete of the week honors, after posting back-to-back strong performance against the Tigers last weekend.

In order for the Sea-Hawks to be successful, they will need to slow down 4th year guard, Tyler Scott (Halifax, NS), who sits in 2nd place in AUS scoring, with an average of 25.9 PPG.  Scott has led the way for the Panthers all season long, which includes eight 30+ scoring games already this season.
