Season Preview

Ready to lead the Sea~Hawks runners for another year are head coach Art Meaney, and former Sea~Hawk and enormously successful runner, Colin Fewer. Meaney and Fewer will be looking to the veteran runners Jared Walsh, Jon Slaney, Tyler Cole, Tom Martin, Andrew Casey, and Mike Minor to lead the Sea~Hawks on the trail this season.

These runners will bring not only fast times to the team, but also a great deal of experience and leadership. The men’s squad will be very deep this season. New addition rookie runner, and former varsity swimmer Ryan Brown should be in the mix. James Grant, Adam Fitzgerald, James Greene, Brent McNamara, Adam Nichols, Aaron Goulding, and Shawn Smith make up a very competitive group of athletes ready to claim a spot on the travel squad as the season progresses.

Coach Meaney has his fingers crossed that American Sean Hulburt, and Canada Games runner Patrick O’Grady will both recover from injury in time to compete later in the season. “With the both of them healthy, our chances of a top three finish in the AUS would get a huge boost.”, says Meaney.

Look for both the men’s and women’s cross country teams to soar to new heights when they hit the trails at the St. FX invitational on September 19th, the UNB Invitational on October 17th, and the AUS Championships in Halifax on October 31st.
