Biography:

Slauenwhite began his coaching career at a young age and has a decade of head coaching experience behind him at the high school, club, varsity and provincial levels. Starting off in Atlantic Canada, he has coached for many clubs including the Reds Volleyball Club of N.B., and the Valley Seahawks of N.S. In 2008 he founded the Central Peace Volleyball Club in Spirit River, A.B., which he also directed and coached to three provincial championships in its initial years.

He has also represented Alberta as a head coach on three provincial teams including the 2010 21U Arctic Winter Games, the 2012 16U Western Canadian Elite, and the 2013 18U National Team Challenge; all of which placed in the top three. In 2010 he also returned to his native Nova Scotia to coach the 15U provincial girls to a gold medal at the Eastern Canadian Elite Championships.

The addition of Slauenwhite to the Memorial Sea-Hawks marks the first time the women’s program will be run by a full time coach, a factor he thinks will make vast improvements. He mentions that the time commitment at the CIS level is an immense contribution and that being on campus will allow for added opportunities in recruiting, video analysis and scouting opponents, to name a few.

For the past two seasons Coach Slauenwhite has been developing the Sea-Hawks Women's Volleyball team to new heights.  This past season (2015-16) Coach Slauenwhite led the team to their first winning season in 8 years and first AUS championship game appearance in 16 years. In addition, he has overseen the development of a multi-age club system that will help to develop elite volleyball players in Newfoundland.
