Sea-Hawks Swimmers Continue to Impress

The Memorial Sea-Hawks concluded their season this weekend in Sherbrooke, Quebec at the 2017 USports Swimming Championships.  This season Memorial had four swimmers qualify for the Nationals. Sam Leawood (Mount Pearl, NL), David Haines (CBS, NL), Charli LeBlanc (Yarmouth, NS), and Veronica Reid (Williams Lake, BC) each qualified for multiple events.

While the Sea-Hawks didn't capture any medals this weekend, it was a strong season for the program as they doubled their total number of athletes at Nationals and put the AUS on notice that the Sea-Hawks are building something special.

"It has been a fantastic season for our swimmers. We are very proud of our growth this year, the team had a fantastic U Sports Champs with all swimmers accomplishing personal bests, and setting four Provincial Records. As a group we improved from one top 20 swim last season to six this season. The team was on fire race after race, the atmosphere was amazing and it was great seeing our athletes working together and supporting each other. We are looking forward to next season and even stronger performances." - Head Coach, Duffy Earle
