Women's Basketball

The Memorial Sea-Hawks (2-1) were defeated 77-60 by the Ottawa Gee-Gee's (3-0) in the final game of the Marie's Mini Mart Fall Classic on Saturday evening from the Field House. The Brock Badgers (1-2) defeated the Manitoba Bisons (0-3) in the afternoon match by a score of 81-74.

The Sea-Hawks had balanced scoring throughout all three of their matches this weekend.  Sydney Stewart (Sarnia, Ontario) led the way in scoring for Memorial, averaging 16.3 PPG for the weekend. Haille Nickerson (Grimsby, Ontario) was one of the consistent performers for the Hawks all weekend long. She averaged 15.3 PPG and 4.6 RPG off the bench for Memorial.

Stewart scored a weekend high 24 points in the Sea-Hawks in their Friday night victory over the Manitoba Bisons.

Brooklynn McAlear from Ottawa was named the tournament MVP, leading the Gee-Gee's to a perfect 3-0 record.

The Sea-Hawks open the AUS season on the road, travelling to PEI for a weekend series with the UPEI Panthers. Games take place on Saturday, Nov. 3rd at 6:30pm NST and Nov. 4th at 1:30pm NST. Both games are available on webcast at
