NLAA and Memorial Varsity Track and Field Team

The Memorial Varsity Track and Field Program will offer regular team training during the fall and winter semesters of 2018/2019. A limited number of athletes will be selected to take part in AUS Track and Field Championship, February 2019, Moncton, NB.

Several open sessions will be offered in September followed by a formal invitation to join the varsity training track team.

Athletes invited to the training team will be expected to sign a contract to commit to attending regular training sessions during the scheduled days and times, including the team trials.

Athletes with non-varsity coaches will still be expected to attend a couple of team practices a month and report training progress on a weekly basis.

The Varsity Travel Team will be chosen from the training squad in trials in early January. The AUS Travel Team will consist of a maximum of 18 athletes and two coaches. A pre AUS travel team when existing in a chosen year will consist of a maximum of 12 athletes and two coaches.

Athletes chosen to travel for the competition will be selected on ability and preparedness to compete at AUS level.
