Memorial's Track and Field team had an all together successful weekend while at the 2017 Athletics Nova Scotia University Meet in Halifax. The Sea-Hawks acquitted themselves nicely in an always competitive field, coming home with plenty of reason to be happy.
Andrew Wood finished in 2nd place in the 60-meter sprint, while Jennifer Boland finished 3rd in the 60 and 5th in the 300-meter sprint. Gerard Power was 8th in the 300, as well as the 600-meter. Erica Hayward found herself in 2nd place in the long jump, with Nicole Chan and Stephen Connolly both finishing in fifth in the event. The pair also took part in the triple jump, coming away with another set of identical 5th place finishes. Hershal Deshpandey was 6th.
Victoria Healy came in 6th in the 1000-meter event, the lone participant from Memorial in the event. In the grueling 3000-meter, Megan Ryan was the 7th place finisher. Finally, Stacey Leawood finished 7th inboth the high jump and 60-meter hurdles.
