Impressive Weekend for Sea-Hawks Swimmers

The Memorial University swim team enjoyed a great racing weekend, alongside Olympians, at the Easter Cup in Laval, Quebec.  This was an important weekend for the Memorial team as they prepare for the AUS Swimming Championships in three weeks.

The Sea-Hawks achieved great results from multiple swimmers.  Veronica Reid achieved the Canadian Trials cut in the 50m breaststroke, joining her teammates Charli LeBlanc, Sam Leawood, and Daivid Haines, who are also eligible to compete in the World Championships in April.

Reid scored Provincial records in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, formerly held by teammate Darci Tucker.

In total six swimmers qualified for Swim Canada's Eastern Canadian Nationals held this April in Toronto, including Reid, LeBlanc, Allison Somers, Ryan George, Sam Leawood, and David Haines.

Logan Slade and Darci Tucker each dropped time in four of their races helping set the tone for more fast swimming at AUS championships.
