The Memorial Sea-Hawks men's and women's swim teams will hit the pool this weekend for their first AUS competition of the season. Dalhousie University hosts the 2nd Annual Kemp Fry Invitational, which begins on Friday at the Dalplex Pool.
Memorial will send 17 swimmers to Halifax for the three-day event. Representing the women's team are Charli LeBlanc, Allison Sommers, Veronica Reid, Vanessa Legge, Ciara Arnott, Darci Tucker, Lesley-Marie Lahey, and Naomi Pinno. Members of the men's team include Sam Leawood, David Haines, Ryan George, Logan Slade, Nick Sparkes, Andrew Stone, Daniel Sparkes, Evan Tynski, and Noah Pardy.
Head Coach Duffy Earle is looking forward to seeing the team compete against AUS competition for the first time and expects a strong showing from the Sea-Hawks.
"We have been training fast this season and we are looking forward to our first AUS racing opportunity this season. We are excited to have developed our team so that we will have competitive relays in both the men's and women's divisions. We have numerous CIS qualifying attempts happening this weekend as we look to establish qualifiers early this season."
On the women's side, transfer Charli LeBlanc will also be looking to get back to the U Sports Championships this season. LeBlanc was a triple gold medalist at last year's AUS swim championships, breaking three AUS records in the process.
All three days will be available live on webcast at AUStv.ca. Live results are available at http://swimnovascotia.com/liveresults/
