Volleyball teams face Dalhousie this weekend

Women’s Volleyball

(Jan. 8, 2014) The Memorial Sea-Hawks (3-5) will travel to Halifax for a pair of weekend matches against the Dalhousie Tigers (5-3) on Saturday and Sunday. Memorial opens the second half of the season on a three-game win streak, which puts them in third place in the league.

 

Sam MarchThe Sea-Hawks have gotten contributions from a variety of players on their roster. Statistically seniors Sam March (pictured on right) and Angela Peddle lead the team in kills.

 

Head coach Bill Thistle has also seen Lauren Miller, Krista Hogan, Kirsten Sorensen, Jill Snow, Adrienne Penney and Samantha Jubinville-Mah all provide valuable contributions to the team this season.

 

The Tigers are led by middle Maggie Li and left side Desiree Nouwen. Dalhousie won the AUS Championship in St. John’s last February.

 

The matches will be live on webcast at www.AUStv.ca at 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

 

Men’s Volleyball

(Jan. 8, 2014) The Memorial Sea-Hawks (0-6) will travel to Halifax where they will play a weekend series at the Dalplex against the Dalhousie Tigers (8-2).

 

Josh EnnisMemorial has been led by fifth year middle Nathan Tilley and fourth year left side Josh Ennis (pictured on right) this season. Tilley leads the conference in hitting percentage and is fourth in kills per set.

 

Dalhousie outside hitter Kristen O’Brien leads the AUS in kills per set and is third in digs.
