Women’s Volleyball

The Axewomen currently sit 4th in the AUS with a record of 2-5, and are 2-1 in AUS competition, while the Sea~Hawks have yet to pick up a match win.

The Sea~Hawks will look to left side Sasha Wilkins to create havoc on the Acadia side of the net as she currently leads Memorial averaging 2.89 kills per game and 3.16 points per game. The ‘Hawks will look to second year middle Angela Peddle who is currently 4th in the AUS with 1.21 blocks per game to dominate net play and spark a Sea~Hawks team that is in search of their first AUS win of the season. Coach Terry Mosher saw glimpses of the team’s potential last Friday night against Cape Breton. If the team can get contributions from everyone they can surprise the other teams in the AUS.

Memorial will be in for a challenge against a much improved Acadia lineup that features the veteran leadership of fifth year setter Katrina Clow, and the explosive offense of 2008/09 AUS All-Rookie team outside hitter Nicole Davidson.

After this weekend all Sea~Hawks teams will be heading into the Christmas break, with the student-athletes gearing up for their fall semester exams.
