Basketball road trip to Acadia

The Memorial men's and women's basketball teams head to Wolfville, Nova Scotia to take on the Acadia Axemen this weekend.

 

Women's Basketball

The Memorial Sea-Hawks will travel to Wolfville to take on last season's AUS champions, the Acadia Axewomen in a weekend series.

 

Kelia PondMemorial head into the weekend 1-3 after splitting their home opening series against Cape Breton last weekend.

 

Acadia are currently the sixth ranked team in Canada and opened their season with a pair of convincing wins over UNB.

 

Last season the Sea~Hawks played Acadia at the Field House with the Axewomen sweeping the season series 2-0 with 85-67 and 74-71 wins.

 

The Sea-Hawks will take to the court at 6pm on Saturday and 12pm on Sunday (AST). Webcasts are available through Acadia Athletics

 

Men's Basketball

The Memorial men's team will continue with a challenging AUS schedule to open the season as they travel to Acadia to take on the third ranked team in the country for a pair of weekend games.

 

Alpha KisusiLast season Acadia swept the season series 2-0 with a pair of wins in St. John's. Scores of the games were 84-61 and 92-64.

 

This season Acadia is out of the gates strong winning their first two games against UNB for a 2-0 record.

 

Acadia's Owen Klassen is one of the toughest posts in the league and the Sea-Hawks will be looking to contain his defensively and limit his points and rebounds.

 

Memorial will look for players to continue to show progress in adapting to the AUS level of play. Alpha Kisusi and Ryan Wood were both bright spots for Memorial against Cape Breton.

 

Game time is 8pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday (AST) with webcast available via Acadia Athletics
