Sea-Hawks finish men's soccer season

The Sea-Hawks men's soccer team finished their season this weekend with games in Cape Breton and St. FX. 


Saturday Cape Breton 6 Memorial 1 (boxscore

The Cape Breton Capers defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks 6-1 in AUS men’s soccer in Sydney on Saturday evening. Ian Greedy netted a hat trick to lead the Capers.


Greedy opened the scoring in the eighth minute on a penalty kick. Other goal scorers for Cape Breton were Wyatt Scheller, Justin Maheu and Sandro Rajkovic.


Aaron Anstey scored his second goal of the season in the 74th minute to put the Sea-Hawks on the board.



Sunday StFX 4 Memorial 0 (boxscore

The StFX X-Men claimed a 4-0 victory in AUS men’s soccer action on Sunday at Oland Stadium in Antigonish.


Aaron Anstey (photo by Erica Roberts)The X-Men scored three goals in the first half on the way to the win. Max Maund opened the scoring in the 16th minute. Mark Harpur and Randy Ribeiro both scored before the break to put the home side in control.


Ryan Ashlee closed out the scoring in the 73rd minute for StFX.


Maund was named the player of the game for StFX while Matthew Hamlyn was the player of the game for Memorial.


Memorial finish the season with a 2-10-1 record.
