Sea-Hawks lose pair to Panthers

Oct. 6, 2013 (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) The UPEI Panthers defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks in both weekend AUS men's soccer games this weekend in Charlottetown. Saturday's score was 1-0 and Sunday it was 4-0 for the home team.

Saturday: Second half goal lifts Panthers to victory


Cole MacMillan’s goal in the 51st minute broke a 1-1 tie to give the UPEI Panthers a 2-1 victory over the visiting Memorial Sea-Hawks in AUS men’s soccer on Saturday.


AUS Soccer (photo courtesy The Guardian Sports)The Sea-Hawks opened the scoring as Aaron Anstey scored in the sixth minute on a nice individual effort.


UPEI drew even in the 15th minute as Brett Hogan scored his first goal of the season for the Panthers. MacMillan’s game-winning goal was his third of the season.

Sunday: Panthers defeat Sea-Hawks 4-0


The UPEI Panthers defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks 4-0 in AUS men’s soccer Sunday in Charlottetown.


Cole MacMillan netted himself a hat trick to lead the way for the Panthers. The three goals gave him six on the season to lead the AUS. Brett Hogan scored the other Panthers goal.


The Sea-Hawks had a short bench after Taedy O’Rourke and Alex Pretty both were ineligible to play after picking up yellows on Saturday.


The win evened the Panthers record at 3-3-3.


The Sea-Hawks fell to 1-7-1 on the season with the loss.
