Nov. 9, 2013 (St. John’s, N.L.) The Saint Mary’s Huskies pulled away in the third quarter to defeat the Memorial Sea-Hawks 81-67 in front of a packed house at the Field House in AUS men’s basketball on Saturday.

 

The game was tied at the half 34-34 before Saint Mary’s outscored Memorial 28-13 in the third quarter.

 

Terrence Taylor led the Huskies with 20 points and six rebounds in the win. Marquis Clayton chipped in with 12 points and 8 assists.

 

Memorial’s Alpha Kisusi had a team-high 18 points on a tidy 7-11 from the floor in the loss. Noel Moffatt added 13 points and 5 rebounds.

 

Riley Halpin was player of the game for Saint Mary’s while Kisusi earned the honour for Memorial.

 

Sunday: Saint Mary’s earns 83-71 win over Memorial

Nov. 10, 2013 (St. John’s, N.L.) The Saint Mary’s Huskies defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks 83-71 in AUS men’s basketball on Sunday at the Field House.

 

Marquis Clayton led five Huskies in double figures with 21 points. Jeremy McAvoy added 15 points off of Jonah Taussig’s bench.

 

Caleb Gould led Memorial with 16 points on 8-10 shooting in the loss. Gould added 7 rebounds. Vasilije Curcic added 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

 

Memorial will travel to Sydney next weekend where they will play a pair of weekend games against the Capers on November 16 and 17.
