Team Thomas finish 1-2 at Atlantic University men's curling championship
Memorial's Team Thomas men's curling team finished 1-2 at the Atlantic University men's curling championship in Halifax on the weekend.
The team opened the bonspiel with a 6-4 win over Saint Mary's Team Thompson. Memorial then lost 7-3 to both Dalhousie and Acadia.
Against Dalhousie's Team Buott in the A final Memorial opened the match with two in the first end but Dalhousie scored in three consecutive ends with singles in the second and third before taking command with three in the fourth end.
In the B final Memorial drew even with Acadia on a pair of points in the sixth end. Acadia would respond with 4 points in the seventh to close out the 7-3 win.
Memorial's team was skipped by Colin Thomas and featured mate Cory Schuh, second Chris Ford and lead Spender Wicks. The team has had a great deal of success representing Memorial claiming the 2011 CIS Championship and earning a world silver medal last year in Karuizawa, Japan.
