Information on Memorial Curling Tryouts
Curling at Memorial is a self-funded sport. Although not funded at the varsity level, the CIS affiliation of curling requires that curling rosters and eligibility of student-athlete be verified by the institution and that responsibility has been assumed by the Division of Athletics.
In an effort to ensure that all students at Memorial are offered an opportunity to be involved, Curling NL has offered to be involved in the selection process of teams and athletes. All interested students must be full-time at Memorial and meet all other eligibility criteria as required by the CCA, who is a partner with CIS in the delivery of the CIS National Curling Championship.
This year, the CIS Championships is being held in Kamloops, BC March 20-24. Teams must qualify for the CIS Championship at the Atlantic University Curling Championship. The date has not yet been finalized for this event.
If MUN students have any interest in participating on a MUN curling team, the starting point of a selection process will be as follows:
teams will be considered for selection to represent MUN in Atlantic Curling Championship. This event would be a self-funded participation, which students responsible for costs of participation. Teams must sign-up by emailing email@example.com

As there are not enough identified teams to have a qualifier, individual athletes may sign up to be considered for selection to a team that on a self-funded basis would represent Memorial at the Atlantic Curling Championship. This event would be a self-funded participation, which students responsible for costs of participation.
