Memorial athletes to represent province in women's volleyball
The final roster for the 2013 Newfoundland and Labrador Canada Games women’s volleyball team has been announced and five current Sea-Hawks will represent the province at the Games this summer.
Gillian Ricketts, Krista Hogan, Jill Snow, Lauren Miller, and Samantha Jubinville-Mah will all be in the lineup as the team travels to the Canada Games August 1-10, 2013 in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Other team members include Alison Poynter, Maddie Lundrigan, Drew Pardy, Catherine Ducey, Shelena Benoit, Danielle Walsh, Amanda Whelan and Sarah Sheppard (alternate).
Former Sea-Hawk Megan Conroy is the team’s head coach while Nathan Wareham will be the assistant coach and Terry Mosher will be the team manager.
The team will get a Games tuneup as they travel to the USA High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from July 22-28. The tournament will give the team an opportunity to compete against international competition with teams representing New Zealand, Chile, Russia, Puerto Rico, and the United States. Six other Canada Games provincial teams will also participate.
