Soccer players Subway Athletes of the Week

Soccer players, Nicole Jesso and David Hickey, are the Subway Memorial University Athletes of the Week for the period ending October 1, 2012.

Nicole Jesso scored the first goal of her AUS career this past weekend against UPEI. Nicole's goal in the 83rd minute earned the Sea-Hawks a 1-0 victory which gave the Panthers their first loss of the season. Nicole has shown a great improvement in the first half the season and is expected to continue to establish herself on the field in the next three years left of her eligibility.

Men's Soccer

David Hickey had a busy weekend in the Memorial goal, facing eighteen shots on goal over the weekend. On Saturday Hickey kept the score 1-0 by making nine saves. On Sunday Hickey was faced with eighteen shots on goal, six of which were in the first forty-five minutes and he managed to keep the game scoreless to start the second half.
